HARVEST FEST SEPTEMBER 7

On Saturday, September 7th, the Stanley Union Church will be hosting a community outreach project whose purpose is to bring the light of Jesus to people who might not otherwise enter the doors of a church on Sunday.

The vision is that the congregation of this church will  put on a mini-festival with music, games, food and activities at no expense to the attendees.

There is no way to predict the success of this venture. Only God plants the seeds through the Holy Spirit. Our place in this event is our obedience in following the command to “go and make disciples of all nations...”

Here is how you can help:
~ pray for God’s will to be done “in Stanley as it is in Heaven”
~ pray for a plentiful harvest of souls
~ attend this event
~ tell others
~ distribute fliers
~ offer verbal support
~ volunteer
~ donate: 16.9 oz bottled water; canned soda; cake for cake-walk; finances

EVENTS OF THE DAY: “RAIN OR SHINE”

11:00 AM - 4:00
DJ music & games, cake-walk, face painting, puppet skits,
horse shoes, volleyball, kids jumping centers, prayer tent

11:30 AM - 1:30 PM free hot dogs, chips, water @ Aunt YeYa's kitchen

1:00 - 3:00 LIVE music in sanctuary by The Country Boys

3:00 - 4:00 LIVE music & witness in the sanctuary by Larry Graves

There will be a “photo booth” in the Nursery
where visitors can have their picture taken and
receive a fun piece of memorabilia to take home.

We will have a prayer tent set up where individuals
can come and gather tracts, fliers, printed materials,
meet the Pastor, pray privately or with someone.

Dedication Day March 17, 2013

This was a wonderful day in the life of the Stanley Union Church. A near capacity crowd gathered to be witnesses and supporters of the Dedication of the Building to the Lord. Here are a few pictures from that memorable day...

The following article was on the cover of the Mountain View Telegraph this week:

Dedicating faith

More and more churches in urban areas are backing off denominational labels.

It's something the Stanley Union Church did more than 100 years ago. The reasoning for the Stanley church to be open to those of all faiths came about more from necessity than a desire to fill the pews.
"There were lots of different churches in the early days," said Don King, a life-time member of the Stanley Union Church. "Eventually, they all ended and we were left."
Pastor John Nash, who's been on the job in Stanley for four years, put it even better.
"God's word has no denominations," he said.
Through the years, the church has been located in different buildings in the village, but since November, services have been held in a new 15,000-square-foot building.
A dedication ceremony will be held at the new church building on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Although the church has about 90 members, its sanctuary can easily seat more. The church also has numerous classrooms.
Nash said the idea is to have a church that can serve its parishioners and well as handle growth.

A beautiful spring arrangement greeted the attendees.

Three pastors gave a message this day.

REVEREND RUSSELL LEE

Board Chairman, Don King welcomed Pastor Jim Thompson.
Pastor Thompson came back from Texas
for the day to share in the celebration.

Don King shares a special moment with
Helen and Reverend Russell Lee.
Doctor Lee was interim Pastor for several years
while the church was seeking a new pastor.

Stanley Church has a heart for helping the community

John and Ginger volunteer at the Bethel Storehouse in Moriarty, New Mexico. Families who have found themselves down on their luck are able to come to Bethel and get food for their pantry. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, members of the congregation donated bags of groceries that were sent home with families for the holiday meals. Because of their missionary spirit, other members of the Stanley congregation have since begun to volunteer at Bethel Storehouse.
